BSA Rocket Gold Star
A genuine BSA Rocket Gold Star, a project restored by Steve McFarlane a couple of years ago for his customer. Steve used our stainless parts exclusively for this project, including fasteners, fork seal holders, wheel spindle sets and brake linkages, for example. You may even be able to spot the Taylor Dow 2-LS “Duetto” front brake, for which we made a special batch of the linkages.
Steve can be contacted on 02920 645 045, you can visit his website www.startyourbsa.com, or you can email him at stephen.mcfarlane73ntworld.com for further details.
If you are looking to undertake a similar project or just need that elusive part for your bike, please feel free to get in touch. Steve is always happy to help.

Stainless Classics supplied many existing catalogue and newly manufactured stainless parts for this customer project just to deliver the right outcome for Steve and his customers requirements. As you can see the result is superb and a real testament to the skills and vision Steve can deliver.
The BSA Rocket Gold Star, produced briefly between 1962 and 1963, is a legendary British motorcycle that fused the high-performance A10 Super Rocket twin engine with the revered Gold Star single-cylinder chassis.
This hybrid design was inspired by tuner Eddie Dow’s vision of a top-tier sportster, and it delivered thrilling performance—reaching speeds up to 123 mph and producing over 50 bhp with racing modifications. Each bike was tailored to the buyer’s preferences, with options like close-ratio gearboxes, racing brakes, and clubman-style saddles, making it a coveted machine among enthusiasts and collectors alike.
The Rocket Gold Star stood as BSA’s final salute to the golden era of British café racers. With its polished alloy detailing, aggressive stance, and throaty exhaust note, it captured the spirit of speed and rebellion that defined 1960s motorcycling culture.
